Areté is the Greek word for virtue/excellence.

Greetings everyone. Welcome to our inaugural Areté Games here in Fort Worth where teams of co-Ed athletes will compete against each other in different sports Olympiad style in order to raise money for a charity of each team's choosing. The winner gets to donate all proceeds of this event to the charity of choice.

Here is the itenerary of the day's events:
9:30-10:30: Flag Football
10:30-11:00: Tug of War
11:00-12:00: Basketball
12:00-1:00: Catered Lunch
1:00-2:30: Volleyball
2:30-3:00: 800 M Relay
3:00-4:00: Soccer
4:00-5:00: Dodgeball

Donations are appreciated from all participants.

Without further ado, let the games begin!

Flag Football: 10 minutes per game. Must have 6 players on field per possession; 1 QB and 5 receivers on offense and 6 defenders; for QB rush, 1 defender must do an audible 5 second countdown before rushing the QB. 2 girls minimum on field per team.

Tug of War: 2 girls minimum per team; everyone must line up alternatively, no 2 consecutive people on the same side.

Basketball: 3 v 3, half court; must have at least 1 girl on court at all times per team; score goes to 11; 10 minute games; shots count as 1 point or 2; rebounds by the opposing team must dribble out of the 3 point line before attempting a shot

Volleyball: Rally style scoring- points can be scored as either the serving team or receiving team; no one person can serve and score more than 4 consecutive points, must rotate after 4 consecutive point won off of serving; servers and positions must rotate; first to 21 wins

800 M Relay: Must be 4 people, at least 1 girl; stay tuned for this event as a twist may be added

Soccer: 10 minute games; at least 2 girls on the field per team; goalies can't catch period; shots on goal must be below knee level; 3 man penalty shootout if tied at end of regulation

Dodgeball: All players play; catching the ball results in a revive, but ball must be controlled (can't catch and then immediately drop ball, otherwise eliminated); can block thrown balls with ball in possession, but if ball dropped, then player is eliminated; if one team has possession of all of the balls, a ball must be thrown in 10 seconds or else there a random elimination
