In order to keep both a spirit of pilgrimage and the cost at an affordable level, please keep in mind that this is a pilgrimage, not a vacation. We will be traveling by public transportation, and on the least expensive options for airfare. This may mean longer layovers and/or multiple stops. It may also mean that our group is split into smaller groups (each will have an experienced travel leader to help with logistics). We will be staying at a small, family owned inn in Krakow a little out of the city but on a convenient bus line. They are an extremely warm and welcoming family and speak English, are well integrated in the tourism of the area, and will be like staying with family. The food is traditional Polish food and they love to feed their guests so you can plan on small, light lunches! We will not be having many “private” tours but will be able to see much of many things and not on a guide’s hurried schedule as we will be spending our days on a somewhat flexible schedule that will include opportunities for group prayer and sharing/community time at night.
The exchange rate in Poland for U.S. dollars is very favorable and while we are there you will be spending about $8 a day for lunch with a dessert and snacks are quite inexpensive. You will have free time for optional tours and exploring and Krakow is a very easy city to navigate with lots of art, history, and religious sites to visit.
Youth that are at least 16 years old are welcome to come without a parent and families are welcome but please keep in mind that this will be a long trip with unfamiliar food, lots of bus travel, and miles of walking each day.
