In order to keep both a spirit of pilgrimage and the cost at an affordable level, please keep in mind that this is a pilgrimage. We will be traveling by public transportation and inexpensive options for airfare. This may mean longer layovers/overnights.
After acclimating to Europe with an overnight stay in Paris or Copenhagen, we will travel to Rome for 3 days in Rome complete with visits to St Peter’s Basilica and Square, the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, plus many other religious and historic sites. Upon our arrival in Krakow, we will be staying at a small, family owned inn in Krakow a little out of the city but on a convenient bus line. They are an warm and welcoming family and speak English, are well integrated in the tourism of the area and will be like staying with family. The food is traditional Polish food and they love to feed their guests so you can plan on small, light lunches! We will not be having many “private” tours enabling us to see many things and not on a guide’s hurried schedule as we will be spending our days on a somewhat flexible schedule that will include opportunities for group prayer, mass and sharing/community time at night.
In both Rome and Krakow, you will have free time for optional tours and exploring on your own. Both Rome and Krakow is a very easy city to navigate with lots of art, history, and religious sites to visit.
Youth that are at least 16 years old are welcome to come without a parent and families are welcome but please keep in mind that this will be a long trip with unfamiliar food, lots of bus travel, and 4-6 miles of walking each day.
Our travel plans in and out of Europe are tentative until flights are booked.
